I still don't completely see why it'll be $2M, unless that's the total cost including the service contract for the system's lifetime. I mean, the hardware and installation labor can't be that expensive, right?


The GRPS website says that they operate 67 buildings, which leads me to speculate that the $2 million includes upgrading other parts of the HVAC system at each school.

Not all that much pops out of a few searches, but there are discussions of projects that make me think that $100,000 per building isn't a lot to spend on such a thing.


Oh, weird, the article said 18 buildings. 67 seems more like 2 million would be appropriate.


The upgrade would apply to only the 18 buildings.

The point I was trying to make was that they likely already have other systems in the remaining buildings.


Yes, it doesn't quite add up. For that money, you could hire the guy to turn things on and off by hand for 50 years.
