Watching a checker-board of laser-light scattering across your eyes is a highly uncomfortable and wildly unique experience. I agree with the other comment that it's a very safe process, done hundreds of thousands of times, and improves your quality of life measurably.
The Dr asked me to please be quiet because I was in awe describing the whole process out loud.
