The fact the procedure involves me looking down the barrel of a flesh-vaporizing laser has always has made me reconsider.


Watching a checker-board of laser-light scattering across your eyes is a highly uncomfortable and wildly unique experience. I agree with the other comment that it's a very safe process, done hundreds of thousands of times, and improves your quality of life measurably.
