While that may be true (though doesn't necessarily mean the same journos aren't making that complaint about their own craft) it doesn't answer the complaint in any meaningful way.


I disagree. In both cases, people are taking the easy way out, because hard things are well, hard.


Last time I checked the purpose of a business was to make money, when I see an easy way to do things I take it.

It's the smart thing to do. I have a feeling that if Instagram pivoted towards curing cancer that investors would go ape shit.

Likewise if someone put a billion dollars on the table and told me I could have it either by writing a photosharing iphone app or curing cancer, I'd sure as hell sign up for option a and not option b.
