Will A.I. Ever Live Up to Its Hype? (nytimes.com)

The day it takes less time to edit AI text output to not read like soulless corporate ad copy that has been approved by multiple committees than it does to write it myself, it will have lived up to the hype.

I suspect that since it is now feeding on its own output ouroboros-style future iterations will make corporate memphis look like radical outsider art.

AI-generated text is extremely accomplished at making me think the author lives in an empty echoey home consisting of bare white walls sparsely decorated with off-white furniture and cream accent rugs and that their mind is similarly stimulating.

Arguably, we are now entering the Trough of Disillusionment phase of the hype cycle.
