While AI for sure is not doing any favor for the embetterment of the internet, the net didn't start rotting a year or two ago, and didn't start rotting because of AI. It has started rotting when the internet was taken over by a small handful of big tech companies, defining what you can access, how you can access, when you can access.


So back when AOL came on the scene?


After AOL I understand there was a better time until 2007. (It is always 2007)


Doesn't explain why the big handful of tech companies all decided to work overtime on restricting content starting in 2016 and not earlier.
