Oof this is going to require some painful changes. Luckily, there are some other great mocking libraries for dotnet. One that I've always been tempted to use was FakeIt Easy.

it's always interesting to see when a group of people extract value of a resource without giving any back get the end of the stick. maybe the users themselves who are the cause of it. pretty sure the vast majority of moq users never donated to it in the first place.


Right, and that's expected of the model that the author originally bought into. The problem isn't with the users, the problem is with the author's false expectations of the model.


Thats ironic considering how much modern world is built on open source. The Linux kernel could start sending telemetry to Microsoft in exchange for say a billion a year. And also do it unannounced, tomorrow. Let alone the other millions of free-as-in-for-now projects. Interesting times!


Users can just switch to a mocking different library, while the author's reputation is (most likely irreversibly) ruined
