Does this mean the whole easter seaboard, should consider bottled water instead of tap?

Probably not - according to the city of Chicago - which is one of the giant circles - the levels in the drinking water are safe: https://chicago.suntimes.com/2021/7/30/22589222/forever-chem...

Bottled water is typically tap water filled with microplastics, so that’d be worse for you.

At least in California, if you see a picture of a mountain on the label then it must be from a natural source, it can't be tap water.

That’s probably not going to help you avoid PFAS though. The natural reservoirs are where the contamination is happening.

Many are distilled tap, which it's pretty clean (but also lacking natural minerals) before they add the microplastics.
