Show HN: A better IP Lookup tool I made (wafris.org)

Most other IP lookup tools I've found are mostly just trying to push you to signup for their API, which is fine but less useful if you're just trying to figure out which IP addresses in your log files are from sketchy locations and likely to do bad things to your application.

I merged together a bunch of APIs and some of our own honeypot collected data to make something I hope devs and security folks find useful.

If you want to try out a "bad" IP, try this one:

https://wafris.org/ip-lookup/104.244.72.115

"The IP address 1.1.1.1 is very high risk and with an F grade should be blocked from accessing your site."

"The IP address 8.8.8.8 is high risk and with a D grade should be blocked from accessing your site."

And a bunch of the IP data itself is also just wrong, wrong asns, wrong providers, wrong geoip.

It also suggests blocking googlebot

How do you determine if an IP address is high risk?

I love this to help in the constant fight of making an old email server keep delivering mail.

Love the "this is a sketchy IP neighbourhood" warning :D
