| | Ask HN: Anyone with KnockoutJS experience available for a Code Review? | | 1 point by manuscreationis on Feb 1, 2012 | hide | past | favorite | | Working on a small side project, of no major importance, to increase my working knowledge with the more front-end-heavy approaches to web app development. I've got a small working example of something I want to develop into a more full featured app, but I was wondering if anyone here had a good amount of experience with Knockout, and would be willing to do a code review with me. There are some things i've pieced together that I'm unsure of are the correct way to go or not, and I'd like some advice from someone a bit more experienced.
Things I'll have questions about:
Observable Arrays, and making the items in the Array (and their properties) observable
Custom Bindings that are applied to said Observable-Array-Item-Properties
WebSockets as a way to update the ViewModel
Things that would be good if you were familiar with, as this is the stack I'm running on:
NodeJS
ExpressJS
SocketIO
Any guidance at all would be a major help, as I'd really like to continue down this road and use frameworks like Knockout in the future, but I just feel like a few minutes of guidance would help me from steering my car into a ditch on my first few outings.
My email can be found in my profile, but I'll respond directly to any replies here as well (I'm at work, so I might not reply right away)
Thanks in advance for any replies this may get |
