When it first came out, I didn't understand it, but I gave it more time and thought, and really enjoyed its capabilities. It's still new and there's only the OpenAI ChatGPT service which at times, seems to be shutdown due to overuse, so I decided to create a solution to that. In addition, I actually asked ChatGPT to create a website for itself, and it came up with a basic template that I really liked and expanded it into what it is today. The service is free to use and I developed an API that is pay-to-use for anyone wanting to incorporate it into their own web apps.
It took me a while to understand how ChatGPT works as well, but it relies on algorithms of billions of lines of code in order to output an answer. The earlier versions of GPT were worse off, but it seems with GPT3, they definitely got it right. There's still occasionally mistakes or misunderstandings, but the interesting thing about v3 is that you can tell it that it is wrong, and it will actually seek out giving you a better answer. It's quite an impressive technology and while I had seen that the education system felt threatened by it, they should actually be embracing it. The CEO of my company says we plan to do just that as its a technology that is not and never will be going way, and will likely lead the way in artificial intelligence.
If you care to have an explanation, it's a straightforward tool that mirrors the services of OpenAI's ChatGPT and provides answers to queries. There is no need to signup or login. Since it is using the API, it stands a better chance of being up during the times when the main service of OpenAI ChatGPT is down, as I'd gotten to see first-hand the other day when the main ChatGPT servers were overloaded.
It also provides a "voice" with text-to-speech and a speech-to-text option to allow handicapped users to be able to use the tool more efficiently. It is often an overlooked feature when it comes to various web tools, which you can read more about here: https://www.w3.org/WAI/people-use-web/
The usage of the tool is more public than private, whereas OpenAI's tool is more private than public, allowing other users to read those answers that ChatGPT gave from others' questions, as not all ChatGPT answers are the same, despite the fact that the same question may have been asked. Definitely great for research on ChatGPT and AI technologies.
It also provides an API service for those who wish to use the services of ChatGPT on their own web applications.
