I hope they never give up, as it's been my favourite browser since its inception. Sure they messed stuff up along the way and not every update has been equally great, but I love using Firefox over any Chromium based browser and been doing so for almost 20 years now.

Same. And I love Android Firefox. Would be horrible not to have Firefox extensions on my phone (or the syncing).

After the Android Firefox rewrite in ~2020 you don't have 99% of Firefox extensions available on Android - only a short list of selected mainstream ones, like Ublock Origin.

If you want to install any other not in the blessed list you need to jump through a horrendous sequence of hoops every time:

Killing off extensions has been a pastime of Mozilla programers from the outset decades ago.

It's by far the most annoying aspect of Mozilla yet the organization has never taken steps to prevent the practice.

Mozilla programmers are a law unto themselves—users bedamned.

Firefox's extensions on Android are why I still use my smartphone to go on Internet.

Kiwi Browser on Android supports extensions. Have a look at it.

True. But the browser doesn't receive regular updates.
