1. It is also a hassle being in the office. I can focus much better at home. Unless the office wants to give everyone their own little sound-proof and well naturally lit room. No one does that though. It would cost at least 2% of the developers salary.

2. I can feel anything I want. I can feel part of something from a distance. We have great tools to communicate. I appreciate that if you start at a company it would be nice to physically meet up, and it is probably good to get together occasionally. But every day in the office is not necessary.
