Somebody could find a way to game the system, and all the statistics in the world couldn't prove he cheated. Plus, randomness is a lot more random and a lot less uniform then people usually give it credit for.

You'll still know how many people voted for each candidate in this system, but instead of that determining who wins, you pick a random vote from the pool.
