I think most of the web would be better off doing that. You can choose the best looking font for Windows, the best one for Mac, and the best looking Linux fonts, and just move along. Your page will load faster, and look more familiar to your users.

The fonts on my site weight about 50 kb. I don't think it will make such a big difference.
