What's even scarier is the blind self appointed belief that one may own the thought and conversation of a topic as impactful yet graspable as AI.


I don't believe that, if that's what you're implying. I think the people who should "own" the conversation so-to-speak are people who have spent the most time doing AI research. A lot of the cultural understanding of what AI is reflects the type of sci-fi hacking that's depicted on TV.
