Yes, I know that you can make a decent living on that (in the Midwest)... but for what? Would you truly be happy doing that? It just seems like a lot of busy work with little long-term return. Most software devs make much more than that. I guess I'm not really keen on the idea of trading hours for dollars. To each their own I guess.

You don't need any education, and not much enterprising spirit to do the book thing.

It's not a line of work that competes with developing software.
