Has there ever been a case where a car manufacturer is charged with a crime for a defect that results in a death?



I don’t know about cars, but there is precedent for company officers for being criminally liable for negligent homocide. Even in non-homocide cases, individuals sometimes face criminal charges, as the Volkswagen engineer behind the emissions cheating scandal found out.
