get your feet wet with elixir or gleam. i think they are way more approachable than erlang

The word simple jumps on me as a semantically unpractical word. Simple can mean direct, as well as short. PG refers to simple as direct, i would argue. Especially when you read the last words of this text, when he talks about editing a draft. He describes how he achieves simplicity in his writing. That's the most important aspect of this text.

looks cool. i will try this for my pocs

On the first glance i really like that approach, but i have the feeling that something is missing. They address the issue, that different people can be on different stages in different axes, but there is no real explanation of how to handle the differences. Someone can come in with little knowledge about the technology, hence not using it before but is very well suited to "lead" discussions about architecture or processes.

this is bullshit. big time

das tut mir wirklich leid. nur das beste für die zukunft. manchmal wird mut nicht belohnt :(

I agree. Sometimes i wonder when i go out of my daily work and meet with people outside of the tech bubble. And yeah. They are struggeling

i highly recommend reading "make it stick". i thought the same way as you until i read the book

tolkiens approach to creativity is truly inspiring.

I had no idea he was so prolific outside of writing. It makes me wonder how much I would create if my only media access was radio and lived in a world with far fewer distractions. Then again, everything's relative and there exist many creators today whose genius doesn't seem to be diminished by all our screens.

Curse you, internet addiction!

basically i would call this planning ahead of execution. But totally cool, if this helps the author
