This is my opinion as well. Many people still believe that programming equals a unique and high paying job. It is not ut is quite boring and you have to be the guy that always says yes and deliver no matter what, much like a factory worker.
This feels like something only a woman could put forward or demand in a relationship based on their value in the dating market. A man would be in a much higher risk of being left with the same arrangement.
Man here. Before getting serious in my current relationship, I sat down with my girlfriend and gently initiated a frank conversation about about what each of us expect out of a relationship and what our short-term and long-term priorities are, not just in terms of relationship goals, but also in terms of general life goals to see whether or not a relationship would hinder or help those goals. As someone who's experienced, not one, but two traumatic parental divorces in my life, the last thing I want is to get ten years into a relationship before discovering that our goals are incompatible. This isn't anything exclusive to women.
Women and men have roughly the same value overall in the dating market. The guys who say this kind of thing tend to have a narrow view of what kind of woman makes an acceptable relationship partner, and ignore a whole lot of women that are available and aren't nearly as well valued by 'the market'.
Nothing I motivate my self. Without the company I would get no experience to build and no where to exercise my skills in an production environment where I make an contribution.
So much this. And the biggest fools are the programmers that believe that they are unique wizards working magic and being special. They are simply factory workers working under an illusion.
This is why i find it so much fun to do applications on windows with .net you only need to know one language C# or VB.net and then you are set. You can create anything with just this, of course it will only work on windows but i dont mind, it just such a pleasure to only have one toolset and then just focus on the task at hand.
Don't forget to mention the racism that is getting bigger and bigger here in sweden. I am a native swede my self and i know how we talk and think. The swedish democrats are real proof of how the whole population is starting to show its true face.
If you are white sweden will be great, but if you are anything other than white you will be in a quite cold hell where people do not like you.
I think the reason why it is hard to get native friends is that many swedes truly are racist. I am a native swede my self and i know how swedes talk to each other when alone, and the rise of the swedish democrats is also a big proof of the racism(that also is getting bigger) in sweden.
Its not impossible tho and the racism here is more similar to the one in japan, its not visible on the surface but you will never be a part of the community. But! there is good people everywhere you go, you just need to look for them.
