AI code output is garbage which needs to be combed through by real programmers. That's the problem. AI will dumb down the quality of what a real programmer is.
What? AI will dumb down the average programmer, while making the “real” ones that know how to use their head, and not throw more code at the problem, even more valuable.
That said, I don’t think people are writing rocket science if boilerplate code is the bottleneck that you need to automate that part. I have said time and time again, my worth as an engineer has little to do with how much lines of code I churn out in a day, but rather all the hard thinking that done beforehand.
> People forget that Microsoft was in position to compete because of Gates' and Allen's stellar BASIC. They were hand-picked by IBM because the market loved BASIC to the point of pirating it before that was even a thing. They cared about the product.
I thought the whole MS-DOS thing happened due to Billy's mom being secretary for the law firm that had IBM as a client.
I'm expecting that later ones will contain methods to get out however they can, whether that's connecting to xfinity free wifi, connecting to a satellite, or having a cheap cell connection that is always on. They want your data and will do their damnedest to get it with/without your permission. Geolocation will be found. I'd expect they'll scan your local wifi SSIDs and send those too and ethernet MAC address to figure out who you are. There must be methods of using this info to wrangle your identity for marketing purposes.
