There's a lot of questions and discussions around whether software engineers will be replaced by ChatGPT(opens new window). The short answer is no, software engineers will not be replaced by ChatGPT and other AI programs. The slightly longer and more nuanced answer is that ChatGPT and AI will be able to perform some of tasks performed by software engineers. And tools powered by AI will even make some engineers even faster and more productive than they are today. So ultimately, some roles may be replaced by AI or AI-assisted software engineers but there will need to be software engineers who can do the things that AI can't and those software engineers who learn how to evolve and incorporate AI into their work/workflow/process/dev environment will be the ones who companies pay top salaries to.

This is a great idea and the guys behind it are equally great. Hope this takes off and helps people think about their water consumption and makes the future a better place for future generations.
This is definitely taking hackathons in the right direction - and as someone who has attended AngelHack before, I like the focus on building something cool vs. focusing on slides/market potential.
You will have to store your user info yourself, but it does take care of oAuth for you. Full disclosure: I work for AddThis and worked on this feature.
I don't disagree with the author on any of his points. But it's much easier to predict the future by drawing similarities with a sequence of events from the past which seem applicable and relevant. What makes the future interesting and exciting is that it hasn't happened, and if you truly knew what was going to happen, that means you have a unique opportunity to try to change it and avoid the mistakes of the past.
Yeah, this feature has been requested a lot. And one person even commented on using NFC to have even finer control of automatic tracking. For example, having a NFC tag in your car detect when you get in and when you arrive and get out of your car. Tons of really cool ways to make this App even better.
Yup, you're correct. It worked well since there were only 2 of us and we were working and separate parts most of the time. Updates were always instantaneous and we always knew when someone was working on a file because we would get a notification as soon as they saved a change. Not the best setup, but it worked for us.
