If your friend is in the United States it's worth reaching out to the following places to see what options might be available for clinical trials or treatment options. If these places are out of reach, at the very least, it's worth looking for a nationally designated comprehensive cancer center with a specialized brain tumor program where they'll have access to the newest treatment options.

UCLA Brain Tumor Center: https://www.uclahealth.org/braintumor/default.cfm

Duke Tisch Brain Tumor Center: https://tischbraintumorcenter.duke.edu/

UCSF Brain Tumor Center: http://neurosurgery.ucsf.edu/index.php/brain_tumor_center.ht...

MD Anderson Brain and Spine Center: https://www.mdanderson.org/cancer-types/brain-tumor.html

Atul Gawande, who's written extensively on end of life issues, had an excellent one hour Frontline special that covered the same topic. I highly recommend watching it if you're interested at all in how terminal illness and dying are handled in the United States today: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/being-mortal/

His book on the same topic is absolutely enlightening and surprisingly enjoyable to read, despite the sobering topics.

Being Mortal.

As far as I can tell that's actually what they did say:

"We are delighted to announce that the six General Partners of Andreessen Horowitz, with our families, are all committing to donate at least half of all income from our venture capital careers to philanthropic causes during our lifetimes."

I think it's an extremely positive statement for them to make.

Hey peripitea - the page is a permanent space to ask questions so you can keep contributing whenever you'd like.

Thanks. In that case, might I suggest something like RSS or email notifications so you can be notified when Q&As you care about are updated?

Great idea - thanks for the feedback!

(1) We reached out directly to a handful of people that we admired and a number of them were nice enough to take the time to sign up. (2) Not as yet, although a number of people use the same handle for their Askolo reserved name. This is something we'll definitely look into.

Hey bhousel - thanks for the feedback! Right now questions are sorted by most recent so you can see new questions at the top of a page, but we're looking at rolling out timestamps as well.

Thanks Omar!

Hey sgdesign - thanks for the comments! We wanted to take a different focus and offer a more conversational format for users vs. an iAmA style site.

We talked to the guys behind AnyAsq a while back and they're working on some other cool things not in Q&A - we're big fans of the team.

Hey zeantsoi - thanks for the feedback. Right now questions are automatically sorted by recency. We left out timestamps to try to create a more permanent space for answers, but this might be a useful thing to display since we've gotten a few requests for it today.

Right. IMO, here's an answer by pg where a timestamp would have provided a lot of context:

A: Not yet. I haven't spent much time reading the next batch of applications yet.

Thanks - we'll get that fixed up.
