What makes Magictool more privacy focused compared to other Extensions?

1- You can decide domains in which the extension will not be activated (via the "Private Domains" setting) 2- We collect minimal user information (only name and email) 3- Our code is minimal - less than 1/2 MB - since we only add the code we need 4- We don't use Google analytics and we don't load any external code when you use our extension, everything is included in the extension 5- We collect usage data (which features do you use) but we allow you to disable it from the settings, and we share what is sent to our servers with you

Also what value do we get compared to wikipedia?

No value. This is just another AI thingy. It's not real information. It can return something, but it doesn't know which things are real.

So you spent time building something that is actively less useful than what already exists in the world.

I don't mean to be rude by that but I just don't get it.

You can build stuff just for fun...

Yeah but if you're gonna build something, build something useful lol. Who wants an encyclopedia that returns inaccurate stuff? The whole point of an encyclopedia is that it's been reviewed by someone for accuracy

You need to work on the UI a little bit (things like big fonts, colors ..etc)

Currently web based, do you think people would prefer more downloadable/self hosted app for more privacy?

The more privacy you offer, the better. If you manage to release a standalone app that integrates some LLM like llama (so you don't send data to OpenAI) to do the work, that'd be even better.

Mostly the former. However, when you become "Top Rated" you will get many inbound requests from clients without much effort

Unfortunately no, and this could be an opportunity for Entrepreneurs out there
