I am a friend of the Ukrainians, I have Ukrainian friends and I don't want them to die. I am not a friend of the Ukrainian government nor of people who think this war should continue nor of people who force others to participate in a war they don't want to participate in. The truth is that most Ukrainians don't want to participate in this war. Why not let them decide freely if they want to join the army? Why so many left Ukraine while it was possible? Why are so many soldiers deserting? Why do people get shot at the borders trying to leave Ukraine?
If you are so afraid of Russia, then go there yourself and fight. Why are you still posting on HN? Give those that don't want to die the freedom to not do so. Go yourself and fight yourself. As long as it is others dying for you, your convictions your words are cheapest of cheap.

War is not the answer, but Ukraine didnt pick this fight. Im frankly embarrassed by the state of support most european nations have shown them. Not all support needs to be about violence, but far too many of us were too slow to implement too little sanctions on the aggressor.

The real point is that Russia are the aggressor in Europe right now, and so a european ex-colonel with lots of experience in the intelligence services spouting russian propaganda every occassion they get is probably a collaborator, so I dont see it as anymore unreasonable for the EU to sanction them than say the Russian oligarchs.

Out of curiosity, what do you do with the footage? in a personal way I found it fun for the occasional funny situational video, or for some small background animations, but not so useful as a whole. I'm creating a college / corporate seminar level class with a 3D animated host and instructor. Each lesson begins with a brief animated intro, which the student then reads their lesson afterwards, and then there is a chatbot that understands that lesson that engages with the student afterwards. The course will have about an hour of 1-2 minute videos in the end, and because they are an animated "professor" it is then possible to create other ethic versions, and other language versions easier than otherwise. And for the curious, that hour of final in-use video will be sourced out of somewhere around 8 hours of final video; these video AIs are fine and dandy for short content, but when working on longer form media the consistency issues grow to Godzilla sized and really become the most consistent issue: trying to keep the likenesses of the characters, and the environment from drifting over time.
openscad is quite nifty for small geometric projects. unfortunately it lacks some Features that make most bigger cad programs really useful... for example: - the ability to select faces/paths from a render, which can be hugely helpful when modifying complex models. - the ability to do constrained sketching in both 2d and 3d - caching at intermediate render levels - nested Projects and joining parts with mechanical constraints. it's still pretty nifty but very niche. I personally would dream of having the tools of a tool like fusion 360 or Catia, but in a gilly textual progemmatic way, while keeping the ability to select objects from the rendrr view.
