Playing with AMOS basic on the Amiga in the mid 90s, then later with pascal in college. Eventually came back to it with web development as a career.

Software developer of 17 years without any form of IT degree, I do have a degree though.


This is the digital divide, where students from more wealthy backgrounds can afford access to better LLM subscriptions, and are able to achieve more "academically".

I'm very happy I did my degree and think back on my time in university with fond memories. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I was there, every lesson, essay and project, it is because of this I came out with a very high grade.

My lifelong career as a software developer has absolutely nothing to do with the subject of my degree, but it set me up in ways that I would have never learned on my own.


Things seem to be changing. We're with BT and would have had to pay a lot extra for a phone line.
