This description reminds me of program language wars excerpt I saw somewhere years ago about how c was obviously superior to Pascal, because with enough preprocessor macros you can compile any Pascal program in c. Followed by some hideous and humorous examples.

This is amazing, an old school but effective approach in this modern age. I was afraid they were going to embed a browser.

That was such a stroll through memory lane.

Before digital computers, jet fighters used theBendix Central Air Data Computer, a mechanical computer designed to handle all the mathematical equations using a network of gears and cams of all shapes and sizes.

I know nothing about this but I stay curious. Just like Navier-Stokes equations can be proved with numerical approximations, can this be verified even if we never solve it?

The author lost credibility due to his bio: I worked on Google's car team in its early years and am an advisor and/or investor for car OEMs and many of the top startups in robocars, sensors, delivery robots and even some flying cars. Plus AR/VR and software.

That means he has a possible conflict of interest, but a possible conflict of interest does not, by itself, destroy credibility. Credibility is lost when you say something that's wrong, not when you have a possible conflict.

Oh no, he has actual experience in the field he is commenting on! This means he knows a lot more about this topic than most of us.

Isn't this where activist investors like Elliot management, Thirdpoint, Starboard come into the picture? granted they are divestiture activists. But activists come in all kinds these days including ESG. It a way to keep the balance and cull non-performing CEOs.

They should open source the software so it will be supported by the community.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question until we can define what sentience means... the question behind the question is "what is sentience?"
