> Unhook is solid.

Last updated 2 years ago (Apr 12, 2024)

You’re right, Unhook does look abandoned.

Sorry, I initially mixed it up Unhook with UnTrap [1] because of the similar name. UnTrap's Chrome version seems maintained (February 2026 [2]), while the Firefox version seems abandoned too (December 2024 [3]).

One of my goals with Maxxmod is to avoid that abandonment pattern.

Did you get it working in the end? I assume you didn't share your setup/config anywhere?

Yeah, forgot when I wrote this comment that the thing about keychain was to pass that auth token into a Docker container, which I gave up on (Tauri desktop app needs to compile Rust and link against other stuff, different architecture inside the container blah blah)

More or less what it says in the README:

    fence -t code -- claude --dangerously-skip-permissions
Or wrap it in a function as an alias

    # cat prompt.md | ralph
    function ralph() {
      fence -t code -- \
        claude --verbose --dangerously-skip-permissions --output-format stream-json -p "$@" \
        | jq -r 'select(.type == "assistant") | .message.content[]? | select(.type? == "text") | .text'
    }

thank you!

Sure, move from one Big Tech monopolist to the next...

that's fair. I was thinking more of an easy way to use a custom domain for email.

Thanks!

Also note that you don't need a supervised iOS device for it, it can be installed on any Apple device.

Firefox:

"Something that hasn't been made clear: Firefox will have an option to completely disable all AI features. We've been calling it the AI kill switch internally. I'm sure it'll ship with a less murderous name, but that's how seriously and absolutely we're taking this."

I hope someone tells the Mozilla CEO.

https://blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/leadership/mozillas-next...

“AI must be clear and understandable. Controls must be simple. AI should always be a choice — something people can easily turn off.”

And then in the same article he goes to write that Firefox "will evolve into a modern AI browser", which makes AI sound like an intrinsic trait. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence if you ask me.

You could turn Pocket off, you just had to do it every time you updated because they decided to be user-hostile and keep jamming it down users throats (I'm still baffled as to why).

I'm not hopeful.

That wasn't my experience with Pocket. It stayed off for me on Firefox for Linux.

I didn't expect Arch Linux to be so high in the list for Steam...:

  - "SteamOS Holo" 64 bit: 26.32%
  - Other:  17.67%
  - "Arch Linux" 64 bit: 9.54%
  - Linux Mint 22.2 64 bit: 7.85%
  - "CachyOS" 64 bit: 7.20%

Note that there's also "LlamaBarn" (macOS app): https://github.com/ggml-org/LlamaBarn
